What matters
Turn a recurring symptom into a clear repair record.
Warranty claims are evaluated through evidence. Each visit should identify the symptom, conditions when it occurs, mileage, warning messages, diagnostic results, work performed, parts replaced, and whether the problem returned.
Useful details to document
- Exactly what happened and how often
- Whether the condition affected control, propulsion, braking, visibility, or occupant safety
- Dashboard messages, fault codes, sounds, odors, leaks, or vibration
- Dates, mileage, and total days at the repair facility
- Whether the dealer duplicated the condition
- Software updates, parts replacements, and repeat recommendations
Ask for a repair order even when no repair is performed. Safely captured video, photographs, timestamps, charging records, roadside-assistance records, and written communications can help document an intermittent problem.
